RRI @ 9740 kHz

I don't know if this log has actually identified RRI on 9740 kHz or not. I received no FAC, but I thought the result was interesting anyway.

BTW, I've switched to an old 8GB Sandisk Cruzer USB device. We'll see if any improvement occurs over my other device. It shouldn't matter if the firmware is correct.

April 9th, 2018 partial log ... This time the signal was definitely there, but my GR-216 failed to detect and log those values. The MER (MSC) peaked at about 7 dB from the rear lobe of this RRI broadcast to India.

May 15th, 2018 partial log as the first 18 minutes were spent in vain trying to log with my GR-216. Signal levels were highest during the first 15 minutes and averaged SNRs ~ 10 dB with my GR-216. Until some of the bugs are fixed in my GR-216, I'm suspending logging with it. Don't get me wrong. I love the GR-216, but the logging bug is driving me nearly batty.

Here's nearly 45 minutes of the log from the reverse lobe of RRI's beam to SE Asia with my SDR-4+

Lightning-Spangled Skies

May 24th, 2018 log ... stormy weather to say the least, but my SDR-4+ and magnetic loop handled it alright. I insist that my equipment work under such adverse conditions even if poorly. When emergencies arise, it's better to have equipment work somewhat than not at all.

May 25th, 2018 partial log ... I missed the first part due to a personal recommendation via e-mail for Ted Randall of WTWW to use DRM...

May 27th, 2018 partial log ... Due to technical problems, I split the broadcast in two parts. The signal was quite strong at times for reception off the reverse lobe.

May 28th, 2018 partial log ... I'm really beginning to wonder if this broadcast is being received from a rear lobe. Only listeners around India know for sure.

Had a listen for this one yesterday here in New Zealand and found some good decoding at times.

Cheers, Chris

Chris, it's great to see some acceptable decoding from RRI's questionable configuration ... Excellent reception at a distance of 10,000 miles.
