The July 31st, 2018 logs from Chris and Terje would have been almost 100% decoded with the use of 16 QAM modulation.

Voice Of China on 6030 kHz on 1st Aug. 2018

At last I managed to get my GR-216 upgraded. I have had some trouble finding a suitable USB stick to do the job.

Voice Of China (according to Google Translate) with a regular test broadcast aimed for China logged for 142 minutes from 1016-1238 UTC. Max.19,00 dB SNR and 1,31% decoded audio.

PS: The GR-216 txt log file shows the Chinese Label in Chinese, but unfortunately my DRM-Log Plotter is ignorant...

Hi Chris,

That was a standard e-mail. A CTRL+A, CTRL+C and CTRL+V...
I think they could have managed to create a somewhat better reply.

But at least in English rather than Chinglish :-)

I'm just glad there is someone at the transmitter end taking the time to send out replies!

I don't want to deviate too much from the topic of this thread, but why are your logs from the GR-216 with r1.4 seemingly ok, but mine are totally bogus? I can only suspect my 110VAC/60 Hz supply as the primary culprit and firmware that doesn't properly compensate.

According to this log there is a break in the transmission similar to a previous log of mine. The log is 767 minutes long. Max. SNR was 16 dB and there was 0,6% decoded audio.

@Tom: I sent you a private message.

Programs can be heard at 2025-1805 UTC.
In addition, the DRM transmitter is also active at 2015-2025 UTC, but with no audio.

I received this signal for about 20 minutes this morning with a maximum SNR of ~ 2 dB. I'll post the log later which isn't much at all. I was surprised to see the signal at all due to the massive interference from a couple of other sources.

Alex, you are right, I just checked on an SDR in Japan and it is still 1805*.

Will try later this afternoon to catch *2025. Thanks.

China 6030 kHz reception at Point Reyes, California, USA

This mornings (1.5 hours) reception at the Maritime Historical Radio Society (MHRS) receiver site in the Point Reyes National Seashore Park, northwest of San Francisco.

The SNR peaked to 22.55 dB!

The arrival of daylight at the receiver slowly reducing the received signal level.

Both the transmit and receive sites use NVIS or high angle lobe type antennas, with Beijing having a dipole quadrant, and Point Reyes has a "short range" TCI-530.

The MHRS facility (both TX and RX) is well worth a visit - I toured it three years ago!
