KTWR on 11995 kHz

No decoding of KTWR on 11995 kHz, 1026-1054 UTC, Tuesday August 6th.
Supposedly beamed this way towards Australiasia, but with strong auroral activity for the last day the bands here have been a mess.

Forgot to set my recording software before going out this evening, so I have no idea if this signal made it to NZ. It probably did, with 100% decoding!

15th August 2019

Two logs, one with the DR-111 and one with the FRG-7700. This is the first time I got better results with the DR-111 with a telescopic antenna than on my old workhorse FRG-7700!

KTWR DRM (Channel 1 Audio) towards Japan and Korea, logged for 28 minutes from 102-1054 UTC. (The clock in the DR-111 log for some reason runs slow when logging). The DR-111 was sitting on a table inside the house using its telescopic antenna. Text messages: Open Bible Stories. The ten plagues. Steve Lossing (not necessarily in that order). Max. 19,00 dB SNR and 81,91% decoded audio. Surprisingly good and better than with the FRG-7700! Result: Quite good reception on the telescopic antenna inside my house in Japan.

KTWR DRM (Channel 1 Audio) towards Japan, logged for 29 minutes from 1026-1055 UTC. A moderately strong signal with Fading around 48-48 dBV in strength. There were no visible Text Messages in the DReaM software. Max. 17,06 dB SNR and 10,56,% decoded audio. Data: 20,06 kbps, EEP, AAC, Mono, English, Religion, Guam, ID:1002. Mode B/10, 2s, 16/64 QAM, P:2/0, A:1/D:0 Timestamp: Wed. Aug.15 10:29:00 UTC+0. Audio Spectrum: 5000 Hz. Audio quality: Good, but very chopped up audio. Result: Not so good reception with the FRG-7700, much better with the DR-111.

Is the antenna that you are using with the FRG-7700 working correctly?

Hi Zyg,
That's what I thought too... but the signal was there. I'll check into it after the Typhoon #10 has passed. The weather was awful last night.
