As a result of my discussion of automotive DRM receivers, I've spent the past couple of days replacing an older AM/FM tuner in my car with an updated HD unit ... ooops. I'd love to have a DRM unit instead, but HD is acceptable. The tuner itself sounds nice, but the audio from the HD stations in my area sound rather compressed. Digital on MW can do much better. I need a set of Bowers and Wilkins speakers for my car now.

Although you're NOT in the "TARGET" zone by a long shot, these digital SW broadcasters really should be using 16 QAM modulation. If so, your result would have been vastly different. WINB has a somewhat omni-directional pattern from their antenna which MOST digital SW broadcasters should employ.

February 5

WINB 7315 kHz started stronger than usual here in NZ last night, but it was just tricking me.

Cheers, Chris

A brief appearance, and I mean brief... LoL

I'm growing tired of the lack of DRM broadcasts to NA though. Now that Julian is ready to release a new version of DReaM with USAC support, should I buy an Airspy HF+ which is equivalent to the Elad S2 in sensitivity at half the price?

Strange looking signal, low audio quality at low bitrate.
Will try earlier next time.
