When they use xHE-AAC, I've observed some strange things on Dream audio output: intermittent output buffer underflow. By Listening closely to their audio output, I also noticed skipping audio fragments once in a while, as if some audio frames are lost even when there's no audio CRC error.

Don't know if this is Tx side or FDK related problem.

I have noticed similar behaviour when listening to the Radio Marti xHE-AAC.

At first I thought that the audio drop outs were related to the content server, or studio to transmitter link issues.

I don't know if the problem is with the new DReaM 2.2.1 or the xHE-AAC decoder or both.

What is the point of xHE-AAC, 11 kbps and 20 kHz bandwidth?

Fascinating ... At least someone is broadcasting DRM with 20 kHz of bandwidth... impressive. I agree, though, that even a DRM SW broadcast of 16 QAM could easily handle a higher bit-rate and stereo. We'll see if this configuration is tweaked a bit for better quality while still retaining its robustness.
