Latest versions of Dream?

Hi All

After a break from most things radio-related for a while I'm looking at turning on the DRM receivers again.

What is the latest version of Dream, both binary version for Windows, and source code to compile on my Linux systems, and where can I get them from these days?

The Sourceforge Dream site all seems to be about 3 years old. Is that really the latest version?

Cheers, Chris

Thanks Neil. It looks like I already have all the latest versions. I thought there might have been some updates for the new codec that the DRM Consortium goes on about, but I guess not :-(

Cheers, Chris.

Shortwave along with the rest of the world is definitely in a state of flux.. I suspect Fraunhofer wants to profit a bit more from their latest codec before allowing its inclusion in "free" softwave like DReaM, but I'm speculating. Yeah, I'd like to see more movement with DRM, but we have to contend with the masses and their spyphones ... LoL It's far past time for broadcasters to shed their "testing" phase of DRM as well.

Most of you have been very patient for more than a decade. Hopefully, Julian and the rest of the developers of DReaM can update the software with more features, especially the transmitter side.

I hope to hear more of your recordings of DRM as DRM to North America is currently non-existent.

Tom

Tom, I'm at the extreme eastern edge of North America (in Newfoundland) and I'm catching bits of DRM when I'm near the radio in my afternoons. However, reception is pretty poor, as you say. I'm getting bits of AIR, RRI and V Nigeria. For the past month or two, none of them has been strong enough to get an unbroken, fully decoded, programme. But every day, now that the sun is retreating again, it seems to get a little better.

Due to the curvature of the Earth, you're almost part of Europe... I'm just kidding. You're in a pretty good location for a North American listener searching for DRM broadcasts to Europe. This current situation won't last forever.

The last version useable for me is 1.17
I've just been testing using a newer PC but there is a problem (either Win7 64bit issues, or a fault in the Dell onboard audio handling) which crashes any version if any of the audio jacks connections are disturbed while it is running.
This doesnt occur using PCs on Win7 32 bit.
Since the Sourceforge forums have gone there is little clue as to what the requirements are for each version to be installed.
The last time I succeeded with a linux build was FedoraCore 10
If anybody has some later installation notes please post. I'd like to update my Blog but cannot do much for now.
The big problem now is how to get xHE - AAC
Assuming AIR will be running this and they are likely to be the only viable broadcaster around. Might have to buy a Mahindra TUV300

regards, Ralph

Are these instructions also in agreement with the way you got it going?

http://onetransistor.blogspot.co.nz/...drm-linux.html

reference to qt and qmake scares me a bit as when I tried that it once took about 6 hours and still bombed out
I had a lot of trouble finding a QT that was compatible with another item

SVN

If memory serves me correct, I checked out dream from subversion and compiled the normal way but had to rename faad to libfaad_drm.a, this is the only thing I can remember doing different.
It's been well over a year and a half since I did this according to the binary date which reads as 4th Nov 2014.

Try this but checkout/download the source first and use dynamic lib instructions: http://drm.sourceforge.net/wiki/inde..._based_distros

DreaM 2.1.1 no codec found

Hello, today i try out the latest version of DreaM to hear the sound of the new shortwave
frequencies of Kuwait. But also no tone.
The version 1.16 it also refuses.... but Sodira plays it!!

Which special codec for DreaM is missing on my system (win10|64bit) ?
And i saw the input window for the logfile frequnecy isn't avaiable. Why?
How does it work with the 2.1.1 version and DRM plotter?

Please help, thanx.
