@ Chris:
Anyway amazing over such distance and considering the antenna they use! |

Aug 3rd 2017 partial log ... Yes, the performance from Chris' equipment is excellent and anyone along the Pacific rim should receive the DRM broadcasts from Kodiak fairly well due to the high reflectivity off the oceans.
One of the reasons for starting this thread was to invite those listeners along the Pacific rim to log these DRM broadcasts from Kodiak so I thank Chris for doing so. Personally, I'd like to see more participation from other countries in the Pacific rim as well. Last edited by tpreitzel : 2017-08-03 at 20:12. |

Aug 4th, 2017 log with normal results for my continental location. Maximum logged SNR was a spurious result.

IF, if I go to Japan in September, I'll certainly look for signals from my temporary location there.
Interesting: I looked at two SDRs in Canada, one in Alberta and one in Victoria and saw nothing, but looking at Chris' SDR in NZ on the web I can see DRM on 12100 kHz now at 0645 UTC. Last edited by Digger : 2017-08-05 at 07:46. |

12100 kHz
Yes, I noticed the 12100 kHz signal on my main Elad DUOr too (same antenna as my KiwiSDR). Not as "good" as 5200 was though.
Cheers, Chris

Chris, I'm tempted to assume that the signal (see my previous post) profited from Grey Line Propagation at the time I looked at your web SDR earlier this morning?

Yes, quite likely at that time. Cheers, Chris

Although the signal at 8000 kHz was quite strong (antenna was NOT pointed in the right direction when this snapshot was recorded), I decided to not log the broadcast. This image shows interference, possibly intentional, on the channel.

Aug 10th, 2017 partial log which was marred by noise. In fact, nearly ALL of the USCG's broadcasts are marred by significant interference.

Aug 16th, 2017 partial logs with the same scenario described in the 3955 kHz thread. Current development of DReaM is broken quite badly and new versions of Slackware (GNU/Linux) require development versions. Furthermore, xHE-AAC isn't available in DReaM so I'll be fixing this problem with reduced SNRs permanently with Gospell's GR-216 which doesn't require a computer.

Aug 25th, 2017 really partial log, all 5 minutes due to noise, noise, and more noise... a real test, I'd say.

Aug 26th, 2017 partial log. All of the USCG's DRM tests are marred by interference currently.

The signal was fairly strong on 5200 kHz during the early morning hours of Aug 30th of 2017, but I decided not to log it.
