Although the audio should be improved within the confine of 16 QAM modulation, the current bandwidth is acceptable for a primarily talk format.

My magnetic loop was outdoors for this log.

Poor atmospheric conditions along with reception outside even fringe areas of the beam yielded a predictable result. In fact, based on similar conditions preceding this broadcast, I predicted this likely result quite accurately. Despite this poor result, 16 QAM at least gave me a chance. 16 QAM on SW rules the air currently.

P.S. In fact, the atmospheric conditions were so poor from the east they didn't improve markedly until around 0400Z on April 21st ... just awful. Now, you know why I lend such little credence to atmospheric forecasts, even ones allegedly in my local neighborhood .As I've emphasized in the past, my location as reflected on my logs is a regional approximation. I definitely have a theory about such observations that lie on the margins of conventional science's limitations...

Hi Clint - I wish it was my work, but the signal has been received very well over a wide swath of North America!

Although the propagation was pretty good today, the results are much better than predicted by VOACAP.

For example, the 2nd attachment shows a short log, with some audio decoding, from a KiwiSDR web receiver in Lubbock, Texas using a modest active antenna. Another KiwiSDR near Edmonton, Alberta in Canada, far away from the predicted beam, was showing decent reception of the transmission.

I wonder if their antenna configuration is different than that published on the HFCC site?
